I recently spoke to a company owner who told me that they had established a web presence five or six years ago. I believe him. And so would anyone else who visited their site. The copyright was from 2005 or 2006. So was the last piece of company news. Surely, something else had happened at the company since then, right?
Avoid the temptation to view your website as a destination, something to be checked off a list. Try to think of it more as a living, breathing representation of your organization. Show visitors that your organization is alive, well, and thriving! Keep information up-to-date. Change up photos occasionally. Post news items, accomplishments, employee milestones to your blog.
